Where Blue Meets Green

A new curriculum to inspire and equip the next generation of nature restoration pioneers.

Part of the Bigger Picture

Sussex is at the heart of the UK’s nature recovery, where land and sea are being reimagined.

With its rich mix of coastal and inland habitats, from the South Downs National Park and High Weald National Landscape, to the Weald to Waves corridor, there is a connection that weaves. Landmark projects like the Knepp Estate rewilding and Sussex Bay’s marine restoration show how nature and people can thrive together.

The Blue-Green curriculum was created to connect young people with this regional transformation. Through place-based learning, local role models, and pathways to nature-based career, it equips students and their educators with the skills and resources to repair the ecosystems around them.

The 100 Mile Classroom

The Blue-Green curriculum is part of the 100 Mile Classroom project, an ambitious new nature recovery learning project spanning the Weald to Waves nature corridor. Alongside linking schools with local land or seascape learning sites across the nature corridor, the 100 Mile Classroom will provide educators with curriculum-linked nature recovery resources, access to digital resources for further learning, and a pathway to green jobs through placements, work experience, and mentorship.
